Cullman County Museum, 211 2nd Ave NE, Cullman, AL 35055
The Cullman County Museum is located in downtown Cullman, Alabama. We are mid-way between Huntsville, AL and Birmingham, AL via Interstate 65. Conveniently located less than 2 miles off I-65 and 2 blocks off U. S. Hwy. 31, we are very easy to find. If traveling on I-65, take Exit 308 (Hwy. 278 exit) and turn east. Continue east approx. one mile crossing the railroad tracks bridge and turn north (left) on 2nd Ave SE. We are three blocks up on the left. If traveling on U. S. Highway 31, turn east at Arnold St. NE, go two blocks across the railroad tracks, and you will see the Museum on the corner of Arnold St. N.E. and 2nd Ave. N.E.

Throughout the years, Cullman has been host to many festive events, from Pioneer Parades, to Strawberry Days, to Oktoberfest. No matter what event is celebrated, this community shows her pride and support.
The first official Oktoberfest in Cullman was held in 1982 and had a theme: Die Duetsche colonie von Nord Alabama-heir the living is good!   Every year after, starting the first Saturday in October, we have one goal; to celebrate Cullman’s German heritage.
Events include: car show, craft fair, senior day, entertainment, dancing, children's activities and of course, lots of German Food, and more! Traditional German music can be heard daily at the Festhalle Mark Platz; women in Dirndl’s and men in Lederhosen are common appearances and everyone dances to the variety of music offered nightly. Come visit the beer garden, and enjoy the festivities. As we plan for the future, more events and sponsors are added, but we still have one goal: to celebrate Cullman’s German heritage. Come join us!
