Debra H. Jones, the Republican candidate for Circuit Judge, Place #3, of Calhoun and Cleburne Counties, was honored with the distinguished American Biographical Institute for Dedication and Excellence award of Woman of the Year in Law 2010. On July 23, 2010, Mrs. Jones was honored for her outstanding pursuits and achievements in the field of law.

There will be a multicultural picnic Saturday August 21 at the Jacksonville Community Center, located at 501 Alexandria Rd. SW, from 11 am until 5 pm. People are encouraged to attend this community event where everyone will be welcome. There will be pool fun for a cost of $2 per person available from 11 am to 3 pm. The proposed lunch is barbecue-cooked hamburgers and hot dogs (first come, first served - sponsored by the Calhoun County Hispanic American Association), along with non-alcoholic beverages.

The Ladiga Trail from Weaver to Highway 204 at Jacksonville is approximately six miles. Alton Parris, Robert Hughes and I enjoy riding the trail from Weaver to Jacksonville and back to Weaver. It has become almost a daily routine for us to ride.
