Authorities Thursday morning positively identified the remains of a body found last weekend in the Peeks Hill community as Melody Evans, 42, of Jacksonville. Evans was reportedly last seen alive on Nov. 4.

Last week, residents of Jacksonville received a letter reminding them of the upcoming census count. The U.S. Constitution mandates that everyone in the United States must be counted in a census every 10 years. This includes people of all ages, races and ethnic groups; citizens and non-citizens. The census is more than just a population count. The data the census will provide has numerous benefits to the people of this nation and for Jacksonville.
