Wine, dine and stay in style in the ‘middle of nowhere’ Closer to home is the inaugural wine event at Pursell Farms. Pursell Farms Vine & Dine runs on two concurrent nights, May 24 and 25. Each night includes an overnight stay and use of the facilities that spill out over 3,500 acres in the “middle of nowhere” — the owner’s description, not mine.
So berry delicious Strawberries — fresh-picked, vine-ripened strawberries — are showing up now at local farmers’ markets and pick-your-own strawberry farms.
My daughter and I recently went picking at C. Watts Farm in Munford, and in a half-hour we had picked two gallons of red, ripe berries. Not a flavorless one or a mushy one in the bunch.
Palate Pleasers for Mom A tapas-style meal made up of a variety of small, appetizer-like bites is something we tend to associate with evenings and cocktails.
