Nellie Louise Parris Copeland
Anniston - Funeral services for Nellie Louise Parris Copeland, 87, of Anniston, were held Monday, July 30, 2012, at 11 a.m. at K.L. Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Center Chapel in Jacksonville with Chaplain David Carpenter officiating. Burial followed at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.The family received friends at the funeral home this evening, July 29, 2012, from 5-7 pm.

Mrs. Copeland passed away on Thursday, July 26, 2012, at NHC Healthcare in Anniston.

A native of Calhoun County, Mrs. Copeland was a lifelong resident of Jacksonville. She retired from Union Yarn Mills and was a childcare provider for single mothers for many years. Mrs. Copeland was a faithful member of Tredegar Chapel Congregational Holiness Church for over 60 years.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Vernon P. Copeland and her parents, Raymond N. and Thelma Parris.

Survivors include a daughter, Debra Birkhimer and husband, Jim, of French Lick, Ind.; son, C.J. Copeland and wife, Pat, of Texarkana, Texas; daughter-in-law, Cheryl Copeland, of Lineville; sisters, Martha Wilkes, of Jacksonville, Joyce Newman, of Tallapoosa, Ga., Rita Reina, of Weaver, and Wylene Parris, of Birmingham; brothers, Billy Parris, of Dalton, Ga., Darrell Parris and Jerry R. Parris, both of Jacksonville; ten grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; stepson, Robert Copeland of Knoxville, Tenn.; stepdaughter, Mary Copeland, of Stone Mountain, Ga.; five step-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Stephen Copeland, Justin Copeland, Marc Frandson, Daniel Rojahn, Drew Webb and Craig Gaddy.
