Burial followed in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens with K. L. Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Center directing services. The family re-ceived friends at the church from 1-3 p.m. prior to the service.
Mrs. Jackson died on Thursday, August 23, 2012, at Jacksonville Health and Rehab.
She is survived by a daughter, Teresa Lynn (Wendell) Wilson; two sons, Larry G. (Kathy) Jackson and David A. (Carla) Jackson; five grandchildren, Jason (Valerie) Jackson, John David (Rachel) Jackson, Joe Wilson, Adam Wilson, and Josh Jackson; two great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Jackson and Ember Jackson and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Gary Dempsey, Larry Elam, Buddy Ledbetter, Eddie Johnson, James Hobbs, Brice Hay, Jackie Johnson, Lou Honaker and Alvin Stephenson. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Faith Sunday School Class.
Mrs. Jackson was a was a very active housewife who loved cooking, quilt making, canning and freezing fruits and vegetables, and helping other people. Her greatest joy was entertaining her grandsons. She loved her church, her pastor, her Sunday School class and the Joy Group. She also loved sports, especially Alabama Football and the Atlanta Braves.
She played in the first Women’s Softball League in this area. Her smile always let you know she cared!
She was preceded in death by her husband, Audrey Foster Jackson; her parents, Floyd Earnest and Geneva Jane Hanvey; five brothers, Lesley Hanvey, Melvin Hanvey, James Hanvey, Floyd Hanvey Jr., and her twin brother, Willie Bill Hanvey and her four sisters, Ruby Johnson, Doris Baird, Myrtle Fuester and Louise Noah.
