Emogene, a Lumpkin, Georgia native, was a resident of Jacksonville for 33 years. She attended Georgia Southwestern College and graduated from Auburn University where she earned a teacher’s degree. She was the consummate Army wife, serving beside her husband for 30 years. She served in countless leadership and volunteer roles throughout the Army community. She was an active member of the Jacksonville Garden Club and worked tirelessly on the annual Christmas Bazaar for years. She never met a stranger. Her home and heart were always open. Her pride and joy was her family. Known as Mama Brooke, she cherished time with her grandchildren and always made it special. She was a loving lady and much loved by her family.
