Gerald Arthur DeBoy Jr.
Jacksonville - Memorial services for 1SGT Gerald Arthur DeBoy Jr., U.S. Army Retired, 63, were held Saturday, September 29, 2012, at 2 p.m. at K.L. Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Center. The family received friends from 1 until 2 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

1SGT DeBoy died September 27, 2012, at Jacksonville Medical Center.

He is survived by his wife, Janie P. DeBoy, of Jacksonville; two daughters, Robin DeBoy (Patrick Green), of Lineville and Jana DeBoy (Joshua Garner), of Jacksonville; two brothers, Roy DeBoy and his wife, Sue, of Marion, Indiana and Rex DeBoy, of Albany, Indiana; two grandsons, Dakota Witt and Kaleb Garner; brothers and sisters-in-law, Elbert and Shirley Pate, of Empire, John Pate, of Empire, Bonnie and Ray Studdard, of Bartlet, Tenn., Sam Pate of Corner, Mary Pass, of Jacksonville, Debra and Dennis McNiese, of Jasper, Ward Boyd, of Empire, and several nieces and nephews.

1SGT DeBoy served his country in the 101st Airborne Division of the U. S. Army for 24 years. He served in Vietnam from 1969 to 1970 and was the recipient of a Bronze Star and CIB medal. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald Arthur DeBoy Sr. and Madonna Bailey and a sister, Janet Haffner.
