Ollie Pearl Carr Arnett
Jacksonville - Funeral services for Mrs. Ollie Pearl Carr Arnett, 94, were held Sunday, September 30, 2012, at 3 p.m. at West Point Baptist Church in Jacksonville with the Revs. Ronny Moore, Bob Ford and Scott Smith officiating. The family received friends, at the church, from 2-3 p.m. prior to the service.

Mrs. Arnett died September 27, 2012 at her residence.

Mrs. Arnett was survived by her daughter, Glenda Arnett Smitherman, of Jacksonville; three grandchildren, Danny Smitherman, of Jacksonville, Lesia Smitherman Reese and her husband, Mark, of Clifton, Va., and Jon Smitherman, of Jacksonville; two grandchildren, Lindsey and Meghan Reese; and 25 nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be friends and family.

She was a member of West Point Baptist Church. She was born the year the church was formed. Mrs. Arnett was very faithful and active in her church while she was able to attend. She taught Sunday School, was involved with WMU and she loved to sing in the choir. Mrs. Arnett was a fantastic cook. She had a green thumb and enjoyed working in her yard. She loved family outings, fishing and was an avid Braves fan. Mrs. Arnett will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Mrs. Arnett was preceded in death by her husband, Uel S. Arnett; her infant daughter, Patsy Ione Arnett; her son-in-law, Tom Smitherman; five brothers, Harris, Emmett, Dewey, Arthur and Hubert Carr; and three sisters, Willie Mullino, Essie Thompson and Era Tranham.
