The Pleasant Valley Lady Raiders also made it to the Super Regionals in Huntsville. The Lady Raiders, a young team with no seniors, dealt with a roller coaster season but pulled it all together to reach the Super Regionals.

Pleasant Valley took the first match 3-0 over Cherokee winning 25-16, 17-25, 25-18 and 25-20 to advance to play Lexington.

Lexington, the eventual Super Regional champion, beat Pleasant Valley 25-10, 25-10 and 25-13 to end the Lady Raiders season.

Dana Bryant, head coach of the Lady Raiders, said her team jelled at the right time. “We are very young this season so we had a very up and down season; that just comes with lack of experience,” explained Bryant.

“The team I started with and the team I finished with are two different teams. They turned it on at the area tournament and they started playing. I would have liked to have seen it earlier but they played hard when it counted.

“They won the first game in Regionals then we played a tough team. Lexington was the stronger team and we were outmatched. We have no seniors and we will build on this experience.”
