Lilly Ledbetter is no stranger to the national spotlight. After speaking at the Democratic National Convention and touring all over the country in support of President Barack Obama and the Democratic Party, the local celebrity will really hit the big time this week—a sit-down with Stephen Colbert.

Ledbetter made nationwide headlines in her fight for equal pay as an employee at Goodyear that culminated in the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act signed into law by Obama in 2009, something the president has been quick to mention in debates and campaign stops as he works to woo votes leading up to next week’s election.

Ledbetter told the Jacksonville News last week that she is excited to appear on “The Colbert Report” Wednesday because Colbert “really gets it.”

Ledbetter’s appearance is scheduled to air on Comedy Central Oct. 31 at 10:30 p.m. Central time.
