Youth football comes to a close
The Jacksonville Youth Football season came to an end for the two remaining teams as both teams took losses in the semi-finals of the playoffs.

The C Team battled throughout the game but couldn’t quite pull off the victory over the Mountain Rams losing 15-12. The team finishes with a 9-1 record.

The A team (8-2) also took a loss 13-7 at the hands of the Southside Panthers. The Panthers returned the opening kickoff for a touchdown.

Several players from Jacksonville’s A Team were named to the Appalachian Youth Football League All-Star squad and will be playing in the AYFL All-Star game on Sunday, November 18 at JSU from 2-4 PM.

Players selected were CJ Woolverton, Braxton McFall, Dylan Murphy, JaMari Burrell, Jewels “Rabbit” Gray, Demontaye Loud, Cole Gaddy and Jonathan Parker.

The Jacksonville teams will celebrate their successful season with an end-of-the year banquet on Sunday, November 11 from 2-4 PM at the JHS Cafetorium.
