Mr. Green died Wednesday, November 7, 2012, at his home.
He is survived by three daughters, Donna Green Raven of Jacksonville, Vicki Green Tucker and her husband, Bert, of Orlando, Fla., and Linda Green Ledbetter, of Jacksonville; two sons, Donald L. Green, of Memphis, Tenn., and Jeffrey E. Green and his wife, Sandra, of Jacksonville; three brothers; two sisters; eight grandchildren, Al Raven Jr. and his wife, Tonyia, Kelly Miller and her husband, Billy, Alicia Helen (Sissy) Spence and her husband, Greg, James H. Woodall and his wife, Pam, Cidney Parker and her husband, Chip, Stacy Mangum Parris and her husband, Shannon, Wallace E. Green, and Jordan Ann Green; twenty one great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Al Raven Jr., Levi Raven, James H. (Bubba) Woodall Jr., Zach Woodall, Wallace E. Green, and Mason Carnes. Honorary pallbearers will be James “Big Toe” Luttrell, and David “Little Toe” Luttrell .
Mr. Green attended school at Williams and went on to graduate from Jacksonville High School. He served in the Army in World War II and attended Auburn University. His father gave him the nickname of “Doc” because he wanted him to become a doctor to take care of the people of the Williams Community. He was married to the love of his life for 63 years before her passing two years ago. His children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were greatly loved by him and they affectionately referred to him as “Pop”. Mr. Green was a member of First Baptist Church of Williams and past president of the Touchdown Club and a member of PARD.
