White Plains faces tough schedule

Chris Randall is entering his 12rth season as White Plains begins its basketball season tonight against Pleasant Valley. The game will be at home and will begin with B-team action ay 4:30.

The Tip-off Banquet was held Saturday night at Western Sizzlin in Oxford and 93 fans came to show their support.

The Wildcats will face their toughest schedule under Randall.

They play 4A schools Jacksonville, Alexandria and Cleburne County, 3A teams Saks, Piedmont, Weaver and 2A teams Ohatchee, Woodland and Wellborn.

This is the first time in several years the Wildcats have had Cleburne County on the schedule.

“We’re not afraid to play anybody,” Randall said.

“We have five senior this year. Let’s win the area, the region, the county and the state. Somebody has to so why not White Plains.

White Plains will host the Daniel Davenport Memorial Tournament on Nov. 23. Randolph County plays Faith Christian at 10 a.m. White Plains meets Jefferson Christian at 11:30.

The losers will meet in the consolation game at 6 p.m. The championship game will be at 7:30.
