Curry’s three sinks Saks
A 3-pointer by Jacksonville’s Des Curry gave the Golden Eagles a 68-67 win over the Saks Wildcats.

Jacksonville had not led since the first quarter.

Curry pulled up and hit the “three” with 1.7 seconds left on the clock. Saks tried a desperation 3-pointer but missed to give the Eagles the win.

Curry led his team with 29. Sid Thurmond was the only other Eagle in double figures with 14.

Jackson Bell contributed 9 points in the win, Lavontae LaCount 6, Martarius Brisker 5, Dominique Thomas 3 and Andrew Clingan 2.

Earlier Jacksonville took a beating at the hands of the Oxford Yellow Jackets, 67-36.

Oxford outscored the Eagles 32-15 in the second half.

Curry once again led the Eagles scoring 14 points. Thurmond added 8, LaCount 7, Jared Tippets 4, Dakota Doss 2 and Savon Parker added 1.

White Plains handed the Eagles a 52-36 setback behind the 32 points of Jaylon Hill. Curry led Jacksonville with 19 points.
