F&M names Niesler to board
Lin Latta, Chairman of the Board & CEO of Farmers & Merchants Bank, announced the shareholders of Farmers & Merchants Bank added David A. Neisler to their Board of Directors at their annual shareholders meeting held in November.

Neisler and his wife, Merry, currently own Deck Food, Inc., which owns five local McDonald’s franchises in Jacksonville, Piedmont, Roanoke, Ashland, and Heflin. They began this company in 2003 when they purchased their first two franchises in Jacksonville and Piedmont. Their business expanded in 2006 when they purchased additional franchises in Roanoke and Ashland. They expanded their number of stores to five when they opened a location in Heflin on October 31, 2012.

Latta stated, “David is a successful local businessman, and their McDonalds are an important part of the local communities they serve. We are very pleased to have him as a Director, and believe his knowledge and experience will help us serve our customers and communities in the best way possible.”

David and Merry currently reside in Jacksonville, and have four children; David Jr., Elizabeth, Caroline, and Katie. They are members of the First Baptist Church of Jacksonville, and both David and Merry are members of numerous committees and boards at their church. David received his Bachelors of Science degree in Social Sciences from Presbyterian College in 1982, and completed additional training in Marketing Management in 1995 from Columbia University’s Executive Education program.

Before beginning Deck Foods, Inc., David had a successful career in the pharmaceutical and medical device industry. He had spent over seventeen years with pharmaceutical company Sanofi, and had been involved in numerous positions within the company including sales, management, and marketing. The most recent position he held was Vice President of global marketing for Lasersight, Inc., a medical device company.

Latta stated, “David has a unique background that has given him experiences in several industries on a global basis. This along with his knowledge of running a local business offers the bank a distinctive perspective in the financial services industry.”
