Victor Rudolph Ray
Jacksonville - Funeral service for Victor Rudolph Ray, 81, will be Thursday, January 3, 2013, at 2 p.m. at the K.L. Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Center Chapel in Jacksonville with members of Hiram Lodge officiating. Burial will be in Memory Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home tonight from 6-8 p.m.

Mr. Ray died Monday, December 31, 2012, in Jacksonville.He is survived by two daughters, Ceretha Bain and her husband, Garry, of Jacksonville, and Jacquelyn Hefner, of Elijay, Ga.; one son, Wendell Ray and his wife, Pamela of Jacksonville; a very special companion, Gussie Dodson, of Jacksonville; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Donny Dunn, David Ray, Wendell Taylor, Brandon Ray, Larry Carbo and Shannon Brown.

Mr. Ray was a native and lifelong resident of Calhoun County. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of Hatcher Avenue Baptist Church and the Hiram Lodge #42 F&AM, where he served as Worshipful Master for two years.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Ray; a son, Waylon Ray; his parents; a sister and brother.
