American Business Women’s Ass. offers scholarships
Cheaha Charter Chapter of the American Business Women’s Association (ABWA) is funding four scholarships through the Stephen Bufton Memorial Educational Fund (SBMEF).

Two scholarships for $2,000 each are designated for Junior, Senior, or Graduate level students in August 2013, attending Jacksonville State University.

Two additional scholarships for $1,000 each are designated for students attending Gadsden State Community College in August 2013.

To be eligible for consideration, candidates must be women who: (1) are U.S. citizens and residents of Calhoun or Talladega county; (2) have achieved a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 or better on a 4.0 scale; and (3) the field of study is not specified. Parties will then receive a login and password to the scholarship website. Application must be completed by March 31, 2013. The winner will be notified in May. Each one-time scholarship is not renewable. A check will be issued jointly to the educational institution and the recipient. Funds are limited to tuition, books, and fees. SBMEF trustees serve as the selection board for this scholarship. SBMEF, ABWA’s national education fund, is one of the most highly respected scholarship funds in the county. The Cheaha Charter Chapter ABWA has awarded over $40,000 in scholarships to local students since the Chapter was founded in 1986.
