Chocolate treat for a good cause
The Kitty Stone Elementary School gifted class has been busy with the Challenge Based Learning Project. The students identified an area of need in the community by making phone calls. As a result of the calls the class chose to help the Jacksonville Senior Center.

On Feb. 22, The class sold hot chocolate to the school and faculty to raise money for the senior citizens.  The goal was $500. The class raised $624.10.

Several local businesses donated cups, hot chocolate, or gift certificates to support the fundraiser including Food Outlet, Walmart, Walgreens, and CVS of Jacksonville. Parents of gifted students have also sent in supplies.
