Eagles remain unbeaten

With two region wins over Childersburg and Anniston last week, Jacksonville’s Lady Eagles remained unbeaten at 7-0 and ranked No.6 in the state.

The first time Jacksonville played Childersburg the Lady Eagles came away with a 10-0 win as star player Sharon Osterbind, who has signed to play soccer for UAB, had a star performance scoring a double hat trick of six goals.

This past week in their second meeting the Lady Eagles won 10-3 over their region opponent.

Osterbind and Virginia Poe both scored three goals and had one assist each. Cindee Tang added one goal and one assist, Dora Lopez had a goal, Allison Judge scored a goal and had two assists and Kaila Green scored a goal and had four assists. Jordan Terry also had an assist.

Matti Lowery had five saves and the win in goal.

It took the Lady Eagles only one half to score 10 goals against Anniston and have the game called due to the mercy rule.

Virginia Poe scored four goals, Osterbind added three goals and two assists; Haleigh Rutledge had two goals and one assist and Lopez also scored a goal. Hannah Ulrich was credited with two assists, and Becca Ulrich and Jordan Terry both had one assist.

Jacksonville has outscored their opponents so far this season 65-5.
