Mona Darlene Singer
Jacksonville - Mona Darlene Singer, of Jacksonville, went to Heaven on March 11, 2013 at the age of 65.

She is survived by her husband, Richard Joseph Singer, of 48 years and 9 months. Her sons, Retired Lt. Colonel William Toliver Singer and wife, Kathy and granddaughter, Lacey, of Enterprise, Beau Lamonte Singer, of San Antonio, Texas and Joshua Tyler Singer, of Jacksonville. Also her daughter, Amber Lee Dillon and husband, David, of Jacksonville. She is also survived by her sister and brothers, Rona Ladene Hart and husband, Don, of San Antonio, Texas, Richard Lee Tucker and wife, Sharron, of Norfolk, Virginia and Stacy Lamonte Tucker and wife, Diane, of San Angelo, Texas. She is also beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews. She has numerous cousins who she considered more sisters and brother, Merilyne Gibson, of San Angelo, Texas, Adrian (Tiny) Wilkinson, of Jonesville, Louisiana and Bill Tharpe, of Bastrop, Louisiana. She is preceded in death by her parents, Bo and Evelyn Tucker and her brother, Robert Toliver Tucker.

Mona Darlene Tucker met her husband Richard Singer in San Angelo, Texas in 1963 and due to the military and civil service moved all over the country before settling in Jacksonville, Alabama in 2001. She and her husband, their eldest son and her brothers hiked, camped and fished for years in the Colorado mountains. She was an avid tennis player and a devoted wife and mother. Mona, who everyone knew as Darlene, was a strong animal rights activist. She as a homemaker with four children and her family meant everything to her. She was also looking forward to the birth of her second granddaughter in July.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be sent to a charity that was very dear to her, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

A celebration of her life will be held in Jacksonville, sometime in May, at which time family and friends can gather to honor her memory. The impact she had on everyone’s lives will be felt for years to come and the wonderful memories and blessings from this beautiful lady will always be cherished. www.thompsonfuneralhomepiedmont.com
