JSU track team has pair of top 10 finishes
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The final day of the Florida State Relays was hampered by weather issues throughout Saturday with most of the events canceled after meet officials deemed the weather would stick around the Florida panhandle the rest of the day.

Prior to the rain cancellation, Jacksonville State had a pair of top 10 finishes in the women’s 200 meter dash and one in the women’s triple jump.  JSU’s Shamira Barrett took bronze in the 200 meter event with a mark of 24.09.  Barrett finished on the heels of two competitors from Clemson.  Senior Laveeta Oliver claimed fifth in the event after crossing the finish line in 24.24.

Senior Page Harris posted a leap of 36-04.75 to round out the top-10 in the triple jump.

Jax State will be idle from competition until April 6 when the squad will split up and attend two different meets.  The Gamecocks will compete in Florida Relays on April 6 and the Margaret Simmons Invitational, hosted by Murray State on that same day.
