‘Take Pride Day’ huge success in city
On Saturday more than 60 people took to the Jacksonville streets to pick up litter. For the third year Cub Scout Pack 19 and Boy Scout Troop 19 and parents and leaders were there to be part of this community building day. Residents dropped off hundreds of aluminum cans for the Cub Scouts who use the cans as a fundraiser. A group of young women from JSU’s Kappa Beta Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority came with councilwoman Sandra Suddeth to join in the clean up effort. Additionally, community members from all over town came by to lend a hand.

A steady stream of folks dropped off paint cans, recycling, electronics, and discarded household items during the morning event. The day was a tremendous success; those involved hope that Take Pride in Jacksonville Day in 2014 will be even bigger.
