The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office arrested three people Wednesday after they broke into a man’s home on Mitchellville Road in Ohatchee and stole his television and prescription drugs, according to Calhoun County Sgt. Jon Garlick.

Derek Tate, 24, Michael Young, 25 and Summer Edgeworth, 20, all admitted to burglarizing the home Wednesday, the sergeant said.

The victim told police he received a phone call from an acquaintance in January in which he told the acquaintance he was in Talladega and not home, Garlick said.

When the victim arrived home he discovered his back window had been broken and his flat-screen television and prescription drugs were gone, the sergeant said.

Garlick said the victim told police about the acquaintance and a suspect was developed.

Garlick said even though the burglary happened in January there wasn’t enough evidence to issue warrants until Wednesday.

Tate was in the Calhoun County Jail on Wednesday, charged of third-degree burglary, according to court records. Tate was released on a $7,500 bond Wednesday. His court date is set for July 11, according to a police report.

Young and Edgeworth were already in the Calhoun County Jail Wednesday on other felony charges, according to court records. Young has a bond set at $7,500 and a court date scheduled for July 11, according to court records. As of Monday morning, Edgeworth had no bond and no court date set, according to court records.
