OXFORD – Workers on Thursday were busy putting finishing touches on the exterior of two new businesses to open at the Oxford Exchange.

An Aspen Dental office and a Verizon Wireless store will share portions of the new commercial space located next to the Golden Corral restaurant on Oxford Exchange Boulevard.

A bright blue sign out front announces the pending opening of an Aspen Dental practice. The company operates more than 380 practices across 25 states, including three others in Alabama, with offices in Dothan, Florence and Trussville.

Attempts Thursday to contact a representative with Aspen Dental for comment were unsuccessful, but the company’s website states that each dental practice offers full range of dental and denture services.

Oxford City Councilman Mike Henderson said Verizon is the company that will locate along with Aspen Dental in the new building.

Attempts to reach a representative from Verizon and Abernathy & Timberlake Investment Group — the developers of the commercial project — Thursday were unsuccessful.

The new Verizon Wireless store will be the third in Oxford, joining one located at 671 Snow Street and a store located in Quintard Mall. Verizon operates more than 1,900 retail locations nationwide.
