Anniston police today were investigating an assault report in which a man says was attacked with brass knuckles, a cane and a handgun at his girlfriend’s home Sunday morning.

According to Anniston police Capt. Allen George, the 23-year-old victim was at his girlfriend’s home on the 2800 block of Gurnee Avenue when he got into an argument with his girlfriend’s sister.

During the argument, the sister struck the victim in the face, the captain said, and the victim told police he punched her back.

According to George, the victim told police his girlfriend’s sister, her boyfriend and another man assaulted him with a cane, brass knuckles and a handgun.

George said the victim’s girlfriend called 911, and Anniston EMS took him to Regional Medical Center.

The victim had cuts and bruises all over his body, a swollen left eye and right hand and bite marks on his left hand, George said.

Any suspect could face a felony charge of second-degree assault, according to a police report.
