Police say a woman arrested on two felony charges Monday afternoon entered an Anniston home without permission and attacked a woman and her son with pepper spray.

Tiffanyella Michelle Johnson, 21, of Anniston, has been charged with first-degree burglary and criminal use of a defensive spray, according to police reports and court records that became available Thursday.

According to Anniston police Capt. Allen George, on the afternoon of Nov. 26, Johnson visited the 21-year-old victim, an acquaintance, at her home on the 300 block of Cave Road.

The captain said when Johnson arrived, she caused a disturbance over a jacket through the victim’s locked storm door. During the argument, the victim’s 22-month-old son walked up behind her and the victim knocked something over, George said.

When the victim bent over to pick up the item she knocked over, Johnson opened the storm door, stuck her hand inside and sprayed the victim and the victim’s son with pepper spray, the captain said.

According to George, Johnson walked to her car and left the scene before officers arrived. Both victims suffered from red, irritated faces but required no medical attention, the captain said.

Warrants filed for Johnson’s arrest on Nov. 27 said she used the pepper spray with the intent to cause harm. Johnson was arrested at her home on the 1000 block of Maxanna Drive on Monday afternoon, according to court records.

Johnson was released on a combined $35,000 bond Monday, according to George, and she is to appear in court Jan. 6.
