Prep basketball roundup: Lady Bulldogs breeze past Talladega

A big first quarter got Anniston started and coach Eddie Bullock’s girls breezed past visiting Talladega 68-32 Thursday.

The Bulldogs led 22-8 after the first quarter and 42-19 at halftime.

Senior Quanetria Bolton led the way with a double-double — 23 points and 11 rebounds — and added six blocks and four steals. Ki-Yana Bullock had 18 points, seven assists, four rebounds and two steals. Rakeema Najiy added nine points, seven rebounds and three steals in the victory.

Talladega was paced by Jada Reynolds’ nine points.

Anniston (3-1) plays at Sylacauga tonight.

Oxford 45, Southside 32: At Oxford, Casmine Copeland scored 16 points to lead the Yellow Jackets past Southside.

Lexie Higgins added 12 points.

Oxford( 3-3) travels to Gadsden City today.

Alexandria 52, Ohatchee 49: At Ohatchee, Ellie Morris led the Valley Cubs with 16 points.

Kaitlyn Brown added 13 points and Timberlyn Shurbutt finished with 10.

For Ohatchee, Joria Steger had a game-high 22 points.

Alexandria (3-2) travels to Cleburne County today.

Piedmont 55, Wellborn 14: At Wellborn, Tiffany Prater and Carlie Flowers led the Bulldogs with 12 points each.

Carlee Mullinax led Wellborn with eight points.

Piedmont (2-3) travels to Woodland on Monday.

BOYS

Piedmont 68, Wellborn 39:
At Wellborn, Taylor Hayes led the Bulldogs over the Panthers with 14 points. Ty Sparks added 10 points.

For Wellborn, Corri Tignor finished with 11 points. Jordan Montgomery added nine.

Piedmont (1-1) travels to Woodland on Monday.

Donoho 51, Wadley 18: At Wadley, Justin Foster poured in 18 points in the Falcons’ win.

Kevin Carr added 10 points and Axis Heathcock had six.

Donoho (2-0) hosts Victory Christian on Saturday.

Ragland 70, Faith Christian 55: At Faith Christian, KiJana Lindsay scored 24 points to lead the Purple Devils to a win. Levi Campbell added 17 points.

For Faith Christian, Logan Williamson led the way with 17 points. Josiah McDaniel recorded a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds. London Huie added 13 points and six rebounds.

Faith Christian (1-5) travels to Jacksonville Christian today.
